3.5. GuidelinesforEnclosuremounting(IP20Units)
• IP20drivesaresuitableforuseinpollutiondegree1environments,accordingtoIEC‐664‐1.Forpollutiondegree2orhigher
environments,drivesshouldbemountedinasuitablecontrolcabinetwithsufficientingressprotectiontomaintainapollutiondegree
1environmentaroundthedrive.
• Enclosuresshouldbe
madefromathermallyconductivematerial.
• Whereventedenclosuresareused,thereshouldbeventingabovethedriveandbelowthedrivetoensuregoodaircirculation–see
thediagrambelow.Airshouldbedrawninbelowthedriveandexpelledabovethedrive.
• Inanyenvironments
wheretheconditionsrequireit,theenclosuremustbedesignedtoprotecttheDriveagainstingressofairborne
dust,corrosivegasesorliquids,conductivecontaminants(suchascondensation,carbondust,andmetallicparticles)andspraysor
splashingwaterfromalldirections.
• Highmoisture,saltorchemicalcontentenvironmentsshoulduseasuitablysealed(non‐vented)enclosure.
Theenclosuredesignandlayoutshouldensurethattheadequateventilationpathsandclearancesarelefttoallowairtocirculatethroughthe
driveheatsink.Thefollowingminimumclearancesandsizesfordrivesmountedinnon‐ventilatedmetallicenclosuresarerecommended:‐

3.6. MountingtheDrive–IP20Units
• IP20Unitsareintendedforinstallationwithinacontrolcabinet.
• Whenmountingwithscrews
o Usingthedriveasatemplate,orthedimensionsshownabove,markthelocationsfordrilling
o Ensurethatwhenmountinglocationsaredrilled,thedustfromdrillingdoesnotenterthedrive
o MountthedrivetothecabinetbackplateusingsuitableM5mountingscrews
o Positionthedrive,andtightenthemountingscrewssecurely
• WhenDinRailMounting(FrameSize2Only)
o LocatetheDINrailmountingslotontherearofthedriveontothetopoftheDIN
railfirst
o Pressthebottomofthe driveontotheDINrailuntilthelowerclipattachestotheDINrail
o Ifnecessary,useasuitableflatbladescrewdrivertopulltheDINrailclipdowntoallowthedrivetomountsecurelyonthe
rail
o To
removethedrivefromtheDINrail,useasuitableflatbladescrewdrivetopullthereleasetabdownwards,andliftthe
bottomofthedriveawayfromtherailfirst
